July has been a busy month for us, which is why its been a while since I've blogged. For the 2 weeks of July we took our annual camping trip to the Northern California coast with Papa Chuck & Grandma Tilla. We spent 4th of July in San Jose to watch the fireworks and visit with friends, and then drove up to Anchor Bay for a week or so. Then it was a couple days camping on the beach in Bodega Bay before heading back home again. The weather was gorgeous, if not a bit cold at times; but welcomed nonetheless considering what we're dealing with here in AZ. Jacob had a great time playing on the beach everyday, kayaking down the Gualala River and in the Pacific Ocean in Bodega, and just generally being outside and not having to endure 100+ degree days.
Here are some photos from our stay in San Jose. We watched fireworks in Santa Clara with friends Ali & Ken from Stanford; Jacob loved them and is still talking about the finale. He felt so special to get to stay up until 11pm to watch the big event! Then the next day we visited with our good friends the Raggios in San Jose. It was great getting to meet Matt & Ryan (newest addition to the Raggio family - twins!) and to see how much Joey has grown in the last year. And of course Mama always loves getting to catch up with Ashley :) Then it was on the road to Anchor Bay with a quick stop at our favorite veggie chinese restaurant 'Garden Fresh.'
excited to be on the plane and on our way to CA!
Mama & Jacob waiting for the fireworks to begin; while Jacob enjoys the frosting off a cupcake from Ali :)
