Picking out Jacob's 1st set of golf clubs!

After the parade, the gang went over to Dick's sporting goods to pick out a starter set of golf clubs for Jacob. He really enjoyed trying out the new putter with Daddy on the putting green. Looking forward to more fun at the mini golf course and trying out the driving range.

Grammy Visits Tempe!

We were so lucky to have Grammy Kathy visit with us for the last 10 days! She arrived on Halloween to see Jacob all dressed up as a bumble bee and stayed through this evening. Jacob & Mama just dropped her off at the airport an hour ago. Jacob was very sad to see her go, but is excited that it will be just 2 short weeks till we're in Long Beach for Thanksgiving.

Thank you Grammy for coming out to visit. We had a great time playing with you!

Dodging the water droplets at the Tempe Market Place Splash pad...yes it is November and still warm enough to visit a splash pad....

Happy Halloween!!!

Jacob really enjoyed Trick-or-Treating this year! Previous years he had been pretty timid, but now he is walking right up to the door, saying "Happy Halloween," and gladly picking out his candy :) This year Jacob chose Great Aunt Mary's bumble bee costume to wear. He was very excited to be a bumble bee and would excitedly tell anyone who asked for the last month or so. Thank you Aunt Mary for loaning Kenny's costume to us!

We also have a special treat of having Grammy with us this year to celebrate Halloween. We are excited to have to stay with us for the next 10 days!

The only downside to this year's Halloween Festivities is that Jacob is not feeling well. He started coming down with a runny nose on Thursday that we thought was allergies to the change in weather. However, a fever soon followed. And after a trip to the local pediatric urgent care, the doctor thinks it is probably the flu. Of course we'll never know for sure because we didn't opt for the nasal swab; however, with medication hopefully Jacob will be back to his happy energetic self in the next few days. And thankfully we have Grammy here to help us out :)

Thank you Veronica, Ryan, & Brady for inviting us to go trick-or-treating with you. We had a wonderful time!

Carving the Pumpkin with Daddy

Yesterday we began the day trying to find a pumpkin, which we learned is hard to do when you wait until Halloween day. All our local grocery stores were sold out; but luckily we found a pumpkin patch in Chandler that still had plenty. We picked out the perfect pumpkin, and Jacob & Daddy carved it together on the driveway. This year Jacob wanted to have an 'Owl Pumpkin'. Jacob wouldn't touch the slimy pumpkin insides, but he enjoyed using the giant spoon to scoop out the seeds.
