Our little Picasso...

Somehow all our painting sessions turn into painting different parts of our body...Today Jacob's watercoloring ended up on his nose, all on his own doing this time. Luckily he narrowly missed getting some in his eyes.

And the smile returns for pictures :)

Morning Zoo Trip

With the weather cooling down a bit in the morning, we made a quick trip to the zoo this morning. Jacob had a great time riding on his bike and looking at his favorite animals (giraffes, zebras, flamingos, squirrel monkeys, orangutans, & elephants).

In the giraffe look-out tower. A giraffe seemed to come right up to Jacob & Daddy and got within 10 feet or so.

Very animated squirrel monkeys in the Monkey Village today.

Of course we had to play at the splash pad too. Daddy got to try it out for the first time today. Jacob walked around in the moat for at least 20 minutes.

Mountain Mama's Playgroup

On Friday we had a super fun time playing at Bridget & Logan's house with the other Mountain Mamas, our little guys, and newest of babies. Since summer is too hot to go hiking in the valley, we've enjoyed meeting up for playdates. Hopefully within the next month it will start cooling down so we can go on some toddler friendly hikes. Many of the Mountain Mamas are expecting new additions to their families or have just recently had babies, so it is exciting seeing the group grow.

Thanks Bridget & Logan for a fun morning :)

A week with the gouber...

Not much new going on this week, just continuing with our normal routine of Little Gym, Preschool, and lots of playtime :) Daddy took Jacob to the Children's Museum today while Mama had class.

Here are some of the pictures from this week

Jacob loves all musical instruments, especially drums and all string instruments. On our last trip to the mall so he could ride his bike around (actually mama pushing him while he rides on the bike) he found a guitar pillow to play with in Pottery Barn Kids. He carried it around the store for at least 30 minutes.

Snack time at preschool...Jacob loves goldfish crackers!

For some reason he always sits sideways in his chair.

Jacob's 1st Bowling Experience

On Sunday we met up with our friends Roger, Michelle, and Malcolm to try out bowling with the boys. Jacob did pretty well for about 20 minutes, then he was over it. Malcolm lasted a little longer. But I think Jacob had a good time overall. Here are some pictures of our "little bowlers."

Jacob pushing his ball down the ramp with Daddy

Malcolm very impressively carrying the heavy ball towards the lane with his Dad Roger

Mama and Jacob watching what pins the ball will knock down...gotta love the bumpers :)

This is when Jacob decided he didn't want to use the rack anymore and wanted to push it himself. The ball got about 6 feet from the pins, then started rolling back to us, and stopped halfway down the lane. Jacob spent the rest of the time sitting in a car in the arcade, as he was done with bowling.

Zoo trip with Papa and Grandma Warner

Now that the weather is cooling down a bit (90's are better than 100's!), we've started going back to the zoo in the morning. Papa and Grandma took Jacob to the zoo last week so mama could practice her health assessment skills with her school partner. From the pictures, sure looks like they had a great time! Thanks for watching Jacob!

Grammy & Aunt Sarah Visit

Daddy spent the last week in Italy & Belgium, so Grammy & Aunt Rara came out to spend some time with Mama & Jacob. We had a great time going to museums, pushing Jacob in his bike at the mall, and swimming in the pool. And of course they got to play a lot of playdoh, paint with the water colors, play piano, and read all of Jacob's favorite books. Thankfully they arrived at just the right time, because the night before their arrival Mama came down with food poisoning, and so needed lots of help!

Thank you very much for coming to see us Grammy & Rara, we miss you already!

Grammy & Sarah reading to Jacob at bedtime...I'm sure Sarah is missing reading The Cat in the Hat Comes Back each night...
