Elias's First B-day Playdate

Happy 1st birthday Elias!! Today the mountain mamas & toddlers met at Polly's to celebrate Elias's big day :)
We all had a great time playing, swimming, & eating yummy food.
It really is amazing seeing how much these guys (& gals) have grown in the last year.

My First Molar

Well mama thought I had the beginnings of an earache today, so she took me in to see the doctor. But it turns out when the doctor was looking inside my mouth there was a white, shiny molar just poking through! Mama was pretty surprised because I haven't finished getting all my front teeth. So now I have my four top front teeth, two bottom front teeth, & the beginnings of a top molar!

That's why I've been a bit grumpy all week. Mama & Daddy seem pretty happy to have figured out what was going on. Now they just hope I feel better soon :)

My Buddy Anders & I

Ran into Doug & Anders at the Scottsdale Mall Enchanted Playland today, so Jacob got to play with his good friend. It is amazing how much they have grown this past year! Anders is an expert walker, & Jacob is an expert climber, so there was no stopping these two! Can't wait to see what they can do next :)

Sorry the pictures are a little off, mama took them on her camera phone...

Auntie Sarah went back to DC today. Jacob & mama were both sad to see her go, but luckily she will be back on Friday for another visit before heading on the Chicago for a work conference. Auntie Sarah spoils us with her many visits :)

I'm sleepy auntie sarah...

Auntie Sarah is visiting me from DC this week, & she is just so comfortable I decided to take a little nap.
We've had lots of fun going to the mall play area, the library play area, & music class (anything to get out of the house & still be cool!)
Thanks Auntie Sarah for helping out mama & being such a comfy pillow :)

Family Bathtime :)

My daddy, cousin Jared, & Grandma Tilla gave me a bath tonight. I must be something special. Grandma Tilla, Papa Chuck, & Cousin Jared are staying with us for a few days on their way to Mexico. I am having such a great time playing with my cousin. He even washed my hair tonight!

Today we all went swimming at the YMCA. I hope someday I can swim as well as Jared!

Vacationing in San Diego with Libby & Blaise

Spent an amazing extended weekend with our good friends, the newly married, Libby & Blaise Travella :)

We had so much fun going to La Jolla Cove, where Jacob & daddy played in the water & sand. We also hung out at Balboa Park where we got to listen to an amazing drum circle. Jacob absolutely loved it! He was completely mesmerized by the beat.

Libby & Blaise are doing some renovations to their beautiful condo, so Jonathan helped out with some demolition work, a payback for the help Blaise & Libby gave us to cutting down our junipers.

Jacob loved playing with Libby & Blaise's two kitties, Otter & Hurley. Otter wanted nothing to do with Jacob, but Hurley & Jacob chased each other around the condo constantly. He was a play friend :)

It was an amazing five days that went by way too quickly. Thank you so much Libby & Blaise for a super fun vacation.

Our New Pool Fence :)

Removeable pool fence was installed this morning, so Jacob is safe to play outside in the backyard :)
Mama & baby enjoyed playing in the grass in the late afternoon when it had cooled down a bit. Jacob was curious about this new fence, but didn't seem to be bothered with his new boundaries. We even got to see a gecko friend up close that enjoyed napping on the new fence.

Jacob's walking more and more each day. He especially liked trying out his new skills on the grass since falling is easier on the bum!

Jacob's First Steps!!

Daddy came home from work today, & I surprised him by getting up (without support) and walking a few steps into his open arms. From that moment there was no stopping me, I just love this new freedom. So far my personal best is 9 steps, but I know I can beat it :)

Mama says she is going to try and get a video up of me walking, so keep tuned. Watch out Mr. Pickles & Frankie, here I come!!
