Jacob the Toddler

Since turning one Jacob seems to be mastering new things everyday! He loves to play at the playlands in the local malls, & can even climb all the way up the slide (4 ft tall)! He is also quite the talker now. He started with mama & dada, and now has added baby, dog, & duck to his vocabulary.
He also loves practicing walking with his chomp & clack alligator push toy, so we are pretty sure he's going to be walking on his own in a few weeks.

Auntie Sarah Returns to AZ!!

Auntie Sarah flew back to Tempe with us from Long Beach on Tuesday, and she has been hanging out with Mama & Jacob all week. We had lots of fun going on different outings. Had to stay indoors though because it has been 112 degrees all week! Thank you so much for the huge help you have been to Mama. We will miss you!

Beach Boy

On Jacob's actual birthday we walked to Bayshore Beach to play in the sand and dip our toes into the ocean. Here are some pictures :)

Jacob's 1st Birthday!!!

Jacob turned one on Monday! Here are some pictures from his party on Saturday held at Marina Vista Park in Long Beach, CA. Jacob had such a great time. So many of his family & friends were there to celebrate this special day! Extra special was the amazing singing & guitar show his Aunt Allison & Eli put on for all of us. Thank you for the show, it was too wonderful for words to describe :)

We took hundreds of pictures, & it was really hard to choose just a few to post on the blog, so here are more in a collage.

The family had a very busy weekend, since it was both Jacob's birthday & Father's Day. Jacob's Grandpa Ron & Nana Jill flew in from Florida for the special weekend, so he was lucky enough to have special time with all 3 sets of grandparents! On Friday we walked around Long Beach Seaport with Nana Jill, Grandpa Ron, & Grammy. Then it was on the train up to Burbank to celebrate Grandma Tilla's retirement from 26 years in education! On Sunday we celebrated Father's Day with all the daddy's & grandpas in Simi Valley at Papa Chuck's & Grandma Tilla's house.

It was a super fun extended weekend, thanks to all who could join us :)

Mtn Mama Playdate at Polly's

On Monday we went to a pool playdate at Elias's house with the rest of the Mtn Mamas & Babies. It was a beautiful day, with just a high of 90 degrees, so the pool was nice & refreshing. Thanks Polly & Elias for hosting such a fun event :)

Went to the pediatrician this morning, and Jacob's ears are all better. He is back to his old self, for which we are grateful. Still has a cough, but it is getting better. Glad to have his first ear infection behind us, & hopefully it will be his last!

First Ear Infection :(

So after a trip to the doctor this morning we find out Jacob has an ear infection. He's had a cold for the last 2 weeks, and a fever for the last 24 hours or so. Now he's on antibiotics and hopefully on the road to recovery. He is usually such a happy guy, so it is sad to see him so uncomfortable. But I guess we are lucky that he went nearly a year without getting an ear infection. Hopefully it will be his last for a long while!

Pool time fun with Grandma Tilla & Papa Chuck!

Grandma Tilla & Papa Chuck came out for a visit this weekend :) We had lots of fun swimming in the pool nearly every day! We also drove up to Pine to escape the heat (a comfortable 85 degrees instead of the 105 degree weather in Phoenix!)
